Pitching & Catching Camp

LOCATION: Mary Bowers Field—UAB Campus

CAMP DETAILS:

• Pitching sessions broken up by specific pitch.  Spin drills, fundamental mechanics, core strength emphasized to maximize velocity/power.  Pitchers will not be required to provide a catcher.
• Catching sessions will break down specific fundamentals including throwing, receiving, and blocking.  Core strength & flexibility will be emphasized.
• Pitchers will throw to catchers in afternoon with the goal of seeing morning fundamentals translate to pitching/receiving live.
• Lunch included and camp snacks will be available for additional cost.
• Discounts offered to groups of 8+
• Groups split by age/ability to ensure best learning environment

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP CHECK LIST:

• Softball pants recommended
• T-Shirts are fine, a heavy/hot uniform top is not necessary
• Softball Glove
• Catching Equipment (Catchers)
• Softball Bat
• Helmet
• Batting Gloves (if wanted)
• Tennis Shoes and Cleats (No cleats in the hitting facility)
• Sunscreen

CAMP REFUND POLICY
In order to be compliant with NCAA rules, please understand that any payment you make towards camp is non-refundable. If for some reason a camper cannot attend, please inform Megan Reynolds (reynoldsm@uab.edu) two weeks prior to the camp or clinic date and we will gladly forward your camp balance to be used towards for a different UAB Softball camp or clinic. If an individual cannot attend due to a medical reason, please provide a doctor’s note to reynoldsm@uab.edu and the balance will be forwarded, if the cancellation is made prior to camp. Finally, no refunds or balance forwards will be issued upon expulsion or voluntary withdrawal from camp.

AJ Daugherty Softball Camps are open to any and all entrants. (Limit only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
